Vouch32.lib is the result of quest to include Windows features into a 16 bit Clipper application without any change in the existing interface and business logic.

Over the years I have tried various third party applications to acomplish the same tasks, which are included in Vouch32, but have found that to manage so many executables or libs had been a headache all the time. Moreover the shift to another dialect or version greatly rendered those libraries useless.

I longed for long to reach to Windows utilities and interface from within a 16-bit Clipper application, but could not. Only recently, when I turned serious to Harbour and then to xHarbour, I realized the great capabilities of this compiler.

I experimented with it with a goal how I could exploit  its power and flexibility in relation to my huge Clipper 5.3b application 'Vouch - a comprehensive business control system'. And I was amply rewarded. The result of which is Vouch32.lib.

This library is not an alternative to Windows development at all. It aims at utilizing the Windows capabilities from within the existing 16-bit applications without sacrificing the existing user interface and the business logic. The functions from Vouch32 can be called to support those functionalities which are not available to the 16-bit world.

I know that the base of Clipper developers is decreasing day-by-day. I have also ported all my applications to XBase++, but still I love the power of Clipper, and hope, many others will still be in love with it.

The help file accompanying the library and self contained demo executable will help you determine the usability of Vouch32. This is only the beginning.

I really appreciate, and is grateful, to the xHarbour team who has created such a marvelous compiler. Hats off to them...

I am also deeply  thankful to Augusto Infante and Andrew Wos , authors of What32.lib, a WinApi library, as a great contribution to xHarbour with open source, and Whatplus.lib, an excellent library with a host of classes to develop realtime windows applications in xHarbour. It can be found at:
